Year: 2025

Location: Baní, Dominican Republic

Medium: Spatial installation, wearable hair sculpture, and writing sculpture

Design and fabrication for spatial installation and objects for performance film “Perdón y Olvido”, directed by Vizney Mendez. An Altar where locally-found tree trunks and rocks are joined by red fabric ribbons in the dark, sandy beach of Baní. This spatial altar uses white wax candles, baby’s breath flowers, a dagger, crystals, seashells, wine, and a hand-written letter as offerings leading to personal transformation. Through design, the altar extends into a writing pen, a sculpture of found branches, ribbon, and an ink tube. The woman undergoing transformation uses a hand-woven neck piece made with synthetic hair.
