PORTAL navigates the relationship between metamorphosis and the unknown through ancestral, futuristic, and feminine imaginaries. It reimagines the ciguapa as a feminine being of intergalactic origin who arrives on Earth through a mythic taino cave. This installation materializes her arrival: the moment when the cosmic crosses a terrestrial threshold. By situating the ciguapa within an interstellar genealogy, this installation deconstructs patriarchal and colonial narratives that seek to capture and classify the Other, and becomes an architectural of discovery and transformation.
