SOMATIC HARP reflects on the co-construction of the self through folds that expand from within to engage with others and the environment through interdisciplinary, multilayered dialogues between space, movement, and design. It takes inspiration from Gilles Deleuze’s approach to the Fold and uses textile analogies—pleats, seams, weaves, threads—to explore the interconnectedness of one’s psychosomatic experience with the world, particularly its in-between spaces, represented by a ceiba forest clearing.

Performers’ movements activate the installation’s soft materials. Fabrics and metallic threads become skin-like membranes that breathe life and sound into both the architectural and psychosomatic body, continuously transforming them.
